ToxicAlert™ is a unique and sensitive, real-time sensor technology for the detection of organic toxins. ToxicAlert™ uses proprietary Extreme Ultra-Violet (EUV) Fluorescent Spectroscopy sensitive enough to permit analyses on un-concentrated natural waters and fast enough for rapid detection and intervention. EUV fluorescence is utilized today in both laboratory and field settings as the most sensitive of all-optical detection technologies. It is used for detecting organic molecules and discriminating among molecular species.
RTP has created a new hybrid spectral analyzer with unprecedented speed, accuracy, and sensitivity to the realm of toxic chemical and biological monitoring. ToxicAlert™ is capable of detecting a wide range of polyaromatic hydrocarbons and toxic chemicals — from polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) to dioxins — in groundwater to drinking water, in parts per billion concentrations. This product will address the billion-dollar-per-year markets for the analysis and monitoring of organic chemicals. It is believed by the principals of RTP that the market for ToxicAlert™ is up to 8 times that of REX.
